The DECON team decommissioned an ammonia refrigeration system associated with a food and beverage processing plant.  Tasks conducted by the DECON team included:

• Applied for and obtained the required environmental permits,
• Removed approximately 1,200-gallons of glycol
• Coordinated the removal of 26,500 pounds of ammonia and decontamination of the ammonia side of the refrigeration system
• Decontaminated the glycol side of the refrigeration system and removed approximately 1,500 linear feet of glycol supply and return lines
• Prepared and submitted the ammonia system closure report to regulatory agencies.
